For example, children should be able to learn history a nd geography of the world to be well-rounded individuals, but at the same time they should have an probability to study their cultural and ethnical heritage in more detail. This would help them appreciate their roots as well as respect people of other cultures and backgrounds. I think that currently the system of education is lacking the ability to provide a solid education for children and young people of various backgrounds. Unfortunately, the tone of education youngsters receive is still determined by the amount of money parents have. Even though President George Bush has made an attempt to give the impact opportunities to children of less privileged backgrounds through his landmark legislation No Child Left Behind, still this legislation has failed to achieve its goals in full.
